This season has been so incredibly amazing. I have learned so much over such a short amount of time it is insane. I feel as if I have just stepped into something completely new without knowing what it is quite yet. God has been giving me a new found confidence in him and who he has created me to be. My desires are changing to look more like his desires for my life. There have been quite a few times where I have found myself stressed out, tired, missing home, or in other difficult times, but God's unfailing love never fails me.
The other night as I was reading my Bible I came across a passage that I have read so many times before but this time I had a new revelation.
Isaiah 26:5-7 "He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; He levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust. Feet trample it down - the feet of the oppressed, the footsteps of the poor. The path of the righteous is level; O upright one, you make the way of the righteous smooth."
When reading this verse I realized that our lives are full of so many ups and downs. Moments where we can feel very proud and maybe even big headed because of what we have done. Then moments where we feel the lowest of low because of how something did or didn't happen. I guess the way that I pictured it was like some kind of graph or chart where the line was constantly moving up or down based on how well we felt we did. But there was always a straight line going right down the middle of the graph. That line is the path of righteousness. It is always level and smooth. God knows the plans He has for our lives. He already has the path set out. He's not worried about the moments of extravagance or any of the mess ups. The only thing He truly cares about is our hearts being one with His and us walking life out with Him. Our lives are His, so why should we get caught up in anything else besides his glory and splendor.
2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He has said to me,'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me."
With God leading us, even our weaknesses can be turned into strengths. When we allow ourselves to give up both the pride and the self doubt He is able to use our lives for greater things than we could ever imagine. His desires become our desires when we turn the focus off of ourselves and on to the one who created us. So let God be your guide. Let the path of righteousness be what what you follow.
